2018 The Year of The Woman
Entrepreneur, actress, fashion designer, mother and wife, LaLa Anthony was recently on the Steve Harvey show. As you all know in April she and Carmelo Anthony split after rumors of infidelity, and I must say I admire the way she is handling it. Around the same time the New York Knicks traded Carmelo Anthony to the Oklahoma City Thunder, so he has not been staying in the home. LaLa and son Kiyan remained at their home in New York City as opposed to relocating. She stated, that she's trying to be a role model for women and I am sure many of us can appreciate that. We have seen countless women succumb to their husbands with no reprimand after being caught cheating.
So the interview began with Steve asking how things are going between she and Carmelo and basically LaLa said that their ability to co-parent is going extremely well. However, it is a big adjustment for their family she and estranged husband Carmelo are trying to keep it as normal as possible for their son. "Kiyan is the center of our lives" she stated. It has also been reported that Kiyan and Carmelo spend a lot of time face timing and planning trips for just the two of them. Recently, Carmelo Anthony had a game in NY, in which LaLa surprised him by showing up, as she hasn't been to a game since their split. Afterwards, the two spent some quality time together at his hotel before his departure the following day. She stated that they are not filing for divorce and they both still love each other and want their marriage to work.
During a game of Rapid Fire, Steve asked LaLa who was her teenage celebrity crush? She stated "Method Man" Steve looked shocked, and she followed with, "you know I like a thug." Lol, ok sis! I think we all do. She also said "2018 is the Year of the Woman ok, we are fearless, we do what we wanna do!" I love her transparency, her strength and charismatic attitude. LaLa Anthony holds her own, she plays Lakeisha on Power, she has a clothing line for curvy girls, she was the cover for Latina magazines first digital issue, and has numerous other businesses.
She is showing the world that class is not out of style, she will not be a push over, and nor will she be bitter. Instead of trashing her beloved husband she has chosen to keep their family matters private, and they are not forcing their child to choose sides. I respect that 100 percent because we know society will be ready to label her another "mad black woman." Much love sis!
