Take care of YOU
As a woman how often do you find that you put the needs of others before yourself, especially if you're a MOTHER? We will go in a store with the intention of getting ourselves something but will still end up purchasing something for our kids instead. Its ok, lol we're all guilty of it but treating yourself really should be a necessity. As women we give so much of ourselves til we often times neglect to replenish our minds, bodies, and spirits & we need that balance. Even simple gestures can go a long way after a long hard week. Welch conducted a study of 2000 moms with children ages 5-12 which concluded that on average an American Mother works 98 hours per week. That's like 2 full time jobs plus OT, how do we function? So many of us work full-time, go to school, take care of kids, cook, clean, do laundry, help with homework, go to afterschool activities, doctor appointments, have a spouse to please and the list goes on... Sleep, oh yeah, sleep then repeat the next day. Just listing those things was exhausting lol... Women are so selfless and the beautiful thing about it all is that we are honored to be able to do what we are just "expected" to do.
It takes a special kind of person to do all the things you do for your family so remember to take some time for yourself. Whether its a short jog to start your morning, a glass of wine while the kids are asleep, a nice book, a little retail therapy do whatever makes you happy at least once a week. Self preservation is a MUST do not run yourself ragged. Remember even a well oiled machine needs a little maintenance every now and then. Just think about your family for a second, if it wasn't for you how would they function? Imagine you and your spouse switching roles for a day lol I'm sure it would be hilarious to watch. So please do not find it selfish to do a little something for yourself, we all deserve a little ME time every once in awhile. It doesn't have to be costly, nor take up much time, heck even an uninterrupted nap would be nice in some cases. While taking care of others remember to include YOU.
Sometimes you have to take a break from the grind & clear your mind, there's nothing wrong with that!
