New Year, New Me
The "New Year, New Me" fad is very comical to many people. Rightfully so, because we often fall short of our new year resolutions and some never actually get started. I'm living drama free, losing 20 pounds, and I'm all about my kids this year lol, sounds familiar right? But honestly, for a lot of people the new year is the time when they start planning how they want the rest of the year to play out by setting new "goals." After all, the main objective of a New Year Resolutions is to set a goal or goals in which you plan to accomplish within that year. But, why wait until a new year is approaching to set a goal? I don't care if its the middle of July and an idea comes to mind, you better grab you a pen and paper, jot that thing down, and start thinking of a plan of execution.
James 2:14 states; What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works?
A plan without action is simply a wish, so you have to do more than just think you have to ACT.
What most people do not understand is how to execute the plan to accomplish a goal. The first step once you write the idea is to think it through, then make it happen. There are 5 key elements to creating a goal: Specific Measurable Attainable Relevant Timely (SMART). Make sure the objective is clear, your progress can be tracked, the goal can be accomplished, that its beneficial to you and or others and estimate how long it will take to be accomplished. Answers to those five questions are what makes a goal successful. Whether the goal is as small as drinking 1 glass of water daily (short-term) or as big as creating your own corporation (long-term) all things are attainable with faith and determination.
To some that may seem scary, but many believe that it takes about 21 days of repeating something before it becomes a habit. So if setting time aside to work on your first goal becomes a habit. Once you finally accomplish that one goal, hold on to your seats honey because its sure to start a domino effect. Accomplishing goals creates healthy lifestyles for you and those around you. You start to feel good about yourself and that positiveness radiates onto others. Goals are motivational, they provide direction, and elevate you, so get ready for the GLOW UP. "People with goals succeed because they know where they're going," quotes Earl Nightingale. Goal diggin' ain't easy boo, but it is a major key to being successful.
GOALS, GROWING & GLOWING all 2018!
